The courier service time:matters will also compensate for CO2 emissions in the future for the pre- and post-runs of its ic:kurier transports within Germany. Domestic transports on ICE, IC, and EC trains are already CO2-neutral today. With this latest innovation, the company is taking another step towards a sustainable overall portfolio.
(Frankfurt/Main) Traveling sustainably by rail: Already today, domestic ICE, IC, and EC trains, in which time:matters ic:kurier shipments are transported, run 100% on green electricity. New is that starting this month, the CO2 emissions for the pre- and post-runs of these shipments within Germany will also be compensated. Since the end of 2019, time:matters has been offsetting all CO2 emissions for its onboard courier service airmates. With this latest innovation, the company is now taking the next important milestone in its sustainability offensive.
With ic:kurier, shipments can be transported easily, quickly, cost-effectively, and environmentally friendly by train both domestically and to and from Amsterdam, Basel, Paris, and Vienna. The network includes more than 100 stations within Germany alone and simultaneously provides a climate-friendly alternative to direct transport.
Through the time:matters booking page, customers have the opportunity to submit transport requests for ic:kurier shipments with just a few clicks and without time-consuming registration, which are quoted in real-time and can be booked immediately. The offer is aimed at industrial customers, including those in the Life & Health sector, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as private individuals.
Next step towards a sustainable transport portfolio
