Nov 11, 2020 at 7:00 PMThe Federal Association of Goods Transport, Logistics and Disposal (BGL) e.V. urgently calls for a reliable roadmap for more sustainability in transport and logistics services. Planning, legal, and investment security are needed to ensure a sustainable future.
(Frankfurt am Main) – On November 11, 2020, a long-demanded commercial vehicle summit will take place at the invitation of Federal Minister of Transport Andreas Scheuer. BGL board spokesperson Prof. Dr. Dirk Engelhardt states:
The transport and logistics companies in Germany ensure every day with their trucks that the supply and disposal of our society functions smoothly. They want to fulfill this task in harmony with climate protection and therefore need binding commitments on when they can invest in which technologies.
Currently, there is great uncertainty about where things are heading by 2030. However, planning and investment security is urgently needed for investments in climate-neutral truck technologies. The commercial vehicle summit is a unique opportunity to jointly agree with politics, industry, and the logistics sector on a binding roadmap outlining the timeframe, technologies, and political framework conditions under which the climate protection goals of the federal government can be achieved.
