What I Like About My Job and Logistics:I have long been fascinated by the complex processes of global goods flows, the international exchange with the involved stakeholders, and the proactive thinking required for it. During my training, I had the privilege of working in the Special Services & Projects Overseas department. This allowed me to put the full range of my acquired knowledge to the test and take on a significant amount of responsibility early on. This has had a lasting impact on my professional and personal development. Anyone can be a freight forwarder – for me, being a freight forwarder means acting as the ‘architect’ of transportation, working customer- and solution-oriented, combining analytical thinking and negotiation skills to make transport processes more efficient. Through my current role as Sales Manager at Heliot Group, which operates in the ‘internet of things’ industry, I am able to make these processes more transparent, efficient, and thus more sustainable for transport companies and suppliers. My motivation for changing industries is my conviction that the future of transport logistics lies in its digitalization and technological advancement. Ultimately, the potential of logistics can only be fully realized if existing working methods are rethought. |
