SCA Logistics to Vlissingen instead of Rotterdam
May 19, 2026 at 2:24 PMThe US company Gulf of America Logistics (GoAL) has announced the appointment of Jake Minner (photo) as Vice President of Operations – Specialized Transport and Trucking. At the same time, a new office has been opened in Baton Rouge, bringing the company to four locations in Louisiana. Minner brings 17 years of experience in heavy transport, which he gained at a large industrial company. His expertise lies particularly in the energy sector and the petrochemical corridor of Louisiana. From Baton Rouge, he will lead the heavy haul transport department.
Brent Patterson, CEO and co-owner of GoAL, emphasizes the importance of Minner’s experience: “Jake has worked in specialized transport in this state for nearly two decades – he knows these roads, these routes, and these customers. This kind of deep expertise is exactly what GoAL is built on.”
Expansion of service offerings
GoAL’s four offices serve various industrial zones in Louisiana: Bossier City acts as the corporate headquarters, while Baton Rouge is responsible for heavy and specialized transport. Lafayette focuses on logistics in the Gulf of Mexico and offshore services, and Rayville offers industrial services in northeastern Louisiana.
The company is currently securing port facilities in Cameron Parish, located directly next to the terminals of Sabine Pass and Cameron LNG. This positions GoAL at the center of the over $100 billion LNG investment boom in Louisiana. Additionally, the company has made exclusive agreements for heavy transport along the Gulf Coast, allowing customers direct control over transport means, which is significant given the strained availability of equipment in the region.
The expansion comes against the backdrop of foreign logistics companies attempting to establish a presence in Louisiana. GoAL was founded in 2025 to counter this trend. Patterson, a U.S. Navy veteran and former SVP at Blue Water Shipping, co-founded the company with Rock Bordelon, a well-known entrepreneur from Louisiana who has invested in over 200 companies and advocates for the economic development of rural areas. All decisions, investments, and employment by GoAL remain within the state.
“The industrial market in Louisiana is the hottest in North America,” explains Patterson. “We saw a gap where foreign companies are winning large contracts while local companies are not reaping the full benefits. Our mission is to close this gap permanently. We are a Louisiana company hiring Louisiana employees to serve projects in Louisiana. No global parent company, no divided loyalties, and no offshore profits.”
