Apr 28, 2026 at 10:56 AMBridgestone has expanded its winter tire portfolio for trucks with the introduction of the new Duravis Winter Drive. This tire has been specifically designed for mild European winter conditions and aims to help fleets minimize downtime and reduce overall operating costs.
Improved Performance and Efficiency
The Duravis Winter Drive offers a 15 percent higher mileage compared to its predecessor, the Bridgestone RW-DRIVE 001. Additionally, it features a three percent lower rolling resistance, contributing to reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The tire is designed to provide reliable grip on snow throughout its entire lifespan, which decreases the risk of weather-related downtime.
Waqqas Ahmad, VP Commercial Bridgestone EMEA, emphasizes the need for European fleets to achieve both predictable and reliable performance. “That’s why we developed a tire that delivers consistent and efficient performance from the first to the last kilometer,” Ahmad explains. The Duravis Winter Drive was designed with the goal of keeping vehicles operational and enhancing road safety.
Technological Innovations
The performance enhancements of the Duravis Winter Drive result from a new tread design, a tailored rubber compound, and Bridgestone’s Enliten technology. This technology platform enables improved product performance and contributes to the sustainability of the tire portfolio.
The tire features a new siping design that enhances traction until the end of its lifespan. Additionally, a larger contact area and deeper tread depth increase mileage. The specially developed tread compound combined with interlocking center ribs reduces rolling resistance and improves fuel efficiency.
To further extend its lifespan and lower operating costs, the Duravis Winter Drive is designed for multiple retreads. This supports fleets in reducing their environmental impact. Furthermore, the tire is equipped with integrated RFID technology, enabling digital usage.
The Bridgestone Duravis Winter Drive will be available in size 315/80 R22.5 starting May 2026, with additional sizes set to be launched in August 2026.
