Kardex has put a new warehouse into operation at its Bellheim location, equipped with a Warehouse Management System (WMS). The warehouse covers an area of approximately 7,600 square meters. According to a statement, the company aims to optimize internal warehousing processes, ranging from storage to order picking and loading. The company has chosen the „LIS Warehouse Management System“ (LWM) from LIS Logistische Informationssysteme GmbH.
Modernization of Warehousing Processes
The decision for the new WMS was made as part of a modernization project that coincided with the construction of the new warehouse. This hall was specifically designed for the use of cantilever racks and multi-directional side loaders. Dominik Fischer, Application Owner at Kardex, emphasizes the necessity of these measures: “With the increasing material throughput and a growing variety of items, it was clear: We need more space and more modern structures. Expanding our storage area was an important step for us to be able to grow in the long term.”
