Fashion industry fights against overproduction
Jan 13, 2026 at 8:58 AMThe British International Freight Association (BIFA) has launched a new partnership with software specialist FleetCheck to enhance safety standards for cars and light vans among its members. This initiative aims to provide additional support for smaller vehicles to BIFA members, who primarily operate in the commercial vehicle sector over 3.5 tons.
Pawel Jarza, Director of Policy, Compliance and External Affairs at BIFA, explained that the members of the trade organization already maintain high standards in regulatory compliance for larger vehicles but require more guidance for smaller units. “Ensuring safe operation of larger vans and trucks of all kinds is very much a cornerstone of operations for companies involved in freight movement, and the standards we see throughout BIFA are extremely high”, said Jarza.
He pointed out that smaller vans and cars operate in a less regulated area, leading to a need for information and practical support to promote safety and ultimately reduce accidents. “Working with FleetCheck to provide these services will be a potentially important enhancement to the services we provide to members – preventing just one serious accident would make this work worthwhile”, Jarza added.
