Jan 8, 2026 at 1:08 PMMit effect from January 1, 2026, DACHSER Austria Air & Sea Logistics GmbH has merged with DACHSER-Austria Gesellschaft m.b.H. Michael Rauhofer will lead the newly structured company in Austria as Managing Director, responsible for the areas of European Logistics as well as Air & Sea Logistics. He succeeds Günter Hirschbeck and Peter Deutschbauer, who previously managed these areas in separate companies. Additionally, Rauhofer will remain General Manager for the logistics center in Linz.
Michael Rauhofer, born in 1972, has been part of DACHSER since October 2013 and led the logistics center Linz/Hörsching with around 220 employees until the merger. The trained freight forwarding merchant brings more than 30 years of experience in the transport and logistics industry. Before joining DACHSER, he held management positions at companies such as Schenker and Quehenberger.
Strategic Realignment of the Logistics Areas
Rauhofer has significantly contributed to the development of DACHSER in Austria, particularly in the areas of Road Logistics and Air & Sea Logistics as well as in contract logistics. Florian Zehetleitner-Korbutt, Managing Director European Logistics North Central Europe, emphasizes that Rauhofer embodies the company’s values with his high level of customer orientation, quality, and employee development. His extensive expertise in all modes of transport is seen as a significant advantage for the company’s customers.
„The focus is on further integrating the strengths of Road Logistics and Air & Sea Logistics to provide our customers with integrated, efficient solutions along the entire supply chain,“ explains Rauhofer. He also emphasizes the importance of corporate culture, as logistics is a business that is heavily shaped by its employees.
DACHSER Austria is a significant player in the Austrian logistics market and offers a strong network in the country. In the fiscal year 2024, 2.1 million shipments with a total weight of 1.0 million tons were handled, resulting in a revenue of 215.6 million euros. The company currently employs 821 people at nine locations.
