O Ministro de Portos, Navega\u00e7\u00e3o e Hidrovias da \u00cdndia, Sarbananda Sonowal, est\u00e1 promovendo uma estrat\u00e9gia que conecta transporte, com\u00e9rcio, turismo e gest\u00e3o de rios.<\/p>\n<p>Em uma reuni\u00e3o do Brahmaputra Board em Guwahati, a capital do estado indiano de Assam, ministros, especialistas e representantes do estado discutiram medidas para um melhor planejamento, prote\u00e7\u00e3o contra inunda\u00e7\u00f5es e uso sustent\u00e1vel dos recursos h\u00eddricos na bacia do rio e no nordeste da \u00cdndia. Al\u00e9m disso, foi destacada a import\u00e2ncia de tecnologias modernas como GIS, Lidar e modelagens hidrol\u00f3gicas.<\/p>\n<h3>Conectar o Brahmaputra a portos mar\u00edtimos<\/h3>\n<p>O Ministro Sonowal declarou que o foco da estrat\u00e9gia \u00e9 a compreens\u00e3o de que o Brahmaputra n\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas um rio, mas um ativo nacional que pode promover conectividade e crescimento econ\u00f4mico em todo o nordeste.<\/p>\n<p>A &#8222;Inland Waterways Authority of India&#8220; j\u00e1 est\u00e1 trabalhando para explorar o potencial do Brahmaputra. Uma parte do rio j\u00e1 foi declarada como a &#8222;National Waterway 2&#8220; da \u00cdndia. O Brahmaputra conecta Assam e outras regi\u00f5es do nordeste atrav\u00e9s da &#8222;Indo-Bangladesh Protocol Route&#8220; com os portos mar\u00edtimos indianos de Kolkata e Haldia.
