A linha de aproximadamente 170 quil\u00f4metros entre Maroona e o porto de Portland desempenha um papel central na exporta\u00e7\u00e3o de gr\u00e3os e outros produtos do estado de Victoria (Austr\u00e1lia), conforme informado pela empresa. A renova\u00e7\u00e3o planejada da infraestrutura visa aumentar a confiabilidade, seguran\u00e7a e efici\u00eancia da linha ferrovi\u00e1ria.<\/p>\n<p>Atualmente, a linha est\u00e1 sujeita a restri\u00e7\u00f5es em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 carga por eixo permitida e \u00e0 velocidade m\u00e1xima. Assim, os trens podem transportar apenas uma carga por eixo de 19 toneladas, enquanto o limite usual \u00e9 de 23 toneladas. Al\u00e9m disso, a velocidade m\u00e1xima \u00e9 limitada a 40 quil\u00f4metros por hora, em vez dos poss\u00edveis 80 quil\u00f4metros por hora.<\/p>\n<p>A Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) decidiu substituir os dormentes de madeira desgastados por dormentes de concreto, a fim de prolongar a vida \u00fatil da linha. Vossloh fabricar\u00e1 e entregar\u00e1 250.000 dormentes de concreto como parte deste projeto.
