Com a entrada em opera\u00e7\u00e3o de quatro novas pontes de cont\u00eaineres totalmente el\u00e9tricas da classe Suez nos Terminais Internacionais de Norfolk (NIT), o porto afirma agora ser capaz de embarcar ULCVs simultaneamente.<\/p>\n<p>As novas pontes de cont\u00eaineres complementam a frota existente de 29 guindastes na \u00e1rea de \u00e1guas profundas, que, segundo o porto, s\u00e3o projetados para o embarque dos maiores navios de cont\u00eaineres no tr\u00e1fego do Atl\u00e2ntico. Sarah J. McCoy, CEO interina e diretora da Autoridade Portu\u00e1ria da Virg\u00ednia, enfatiza que esse investimento em infraestrutura envia um sinal \u00e0s companhias de navega\u00e7\u00e3o para aumentar seu volume de carga no porto da Virg\u00ednia. &#8222;Nossa capacidade de atraca\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 crescendo.
