O guincho, um dispositivo que enrola a \u00e2ncora e estica as amarras, foi danificado no dia 12 de dezembro no porto de St. Marys devido ao vento forte.<\/p>\n<p>De acordo com o artigo, o navio, constru\u00eddo em 1982, continuar\u00e1 operacional com ventos abaixo de cinco na escala de Beaufort. O Isles of Scilly Steamship Group (ISSG), respons\u00e1vel pela opera\u00e7\u00e3o do navio, anunciou que utilizar\u00e1 barcos de desembarque adicionais, avi\u00f5es e a balsa de passageiros \u201cScillonian III\u201d para garantir o abastecimento de alimentos frescos aos habitantes da ilha. Conforme informado pelo ISSG \u00e0 BBC, foram pesquisadas op\u00e7\u00f5es para reparar o guincho, mas, devido \u00e0 idade do navio, n\u00e3o havia mais pe\u00e7as de reposi\u00e7\u00e3o dispon\u00edveis.
