Isso permitir\u00e1 que a ag\u00eancia apoie os pa\u00edses da UE na melhoria da sua consci\u00eancia situacional mar\u00edtima face a novos desafios geopol\u00edticos, como a guerra de agress\u00e3o russa contra a Ucr\u00e2nia, a sua frota sombra, transfer\u00eancias suspeitas de navio para navio e a desativa\u00e7\u00e3o de sistemas autom\u00e1ticos de identifica\u00e7\u00e3o de navios.<\/h5>\n<p>(Bruxelas) A EMSA ir\u00e1 concentrar-se em garantir um elevado n\u00edvel de seguran\u00e7a e preven\u00e7\u00e3o de riscos na navega\u00e7\u00e3o mar\u00edtima, reduzir as emiss\u00f5es de gases com efeito de estufa dos navios e prevenir a polui\u00e7\u00e3o causada por navios. A ag\u00eancia continuar\u00e1 a apoiar os governos da UE na descarboniza\u00e7\u00e3o do setor mar\u00edtimo e relatar\u00e1 a cada tr\u00eas anos os progressos alcan\u00e7ados, conforme estipulado no novo mandato.<\/p>\n<p>A digitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o e a redu\u00e7\u00e3o da carga administrativa para o setor mar\u00edtimo ser\u00e3o outras tarefas da EMSA. Os deputados conseguiram um acordo para que a ag\u00eancia ofere\u00e7a forma\u00e7\u00e3o aos pa\u00edses da UE, por exemplo, sobre a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de inspe\u00e7\u00f5es de seguran\u00e7a e a digitaliza\u00e7\u00e3o de registos mar\u00edtimos.<\/p>\n<p>O relator do Parlamento Europeu, S\u00e9rgio Humberto (EVP, PT), declarou: &#8220;Vivemos em tempos de grande instabilidade geopol\u00edtica. Os mares, que outrora eram apenas corredores comerciais, tornaram-se palco de amea\u00e7as h\u00edbridas, riscos ambientais e desafios \u00e0 seguran\u00e7a das vias mar\u00edtimas. Por esta raz\u00e3o, a Ag\u00eancia Europeia para a Seguran\u00e7a Mar\u00edtima, com sede em Lisboa, desempenha um papel crucial no fortalecimento da vigil\u00e2ncia e da colabora\u00e7\u00e3o entre os Estados-Membros.<\/p>\n<p>Com este regulamento, o mandato da EMSA \u00e9 refor\u00e7ado e tr\u00eas objetivos principais s\u00e3o perseguidos: garantir um elevado e uniforme n\u00edvel de seguran\u00e7a na navega\u00e7\u00e3o mar\u00edtima, apoiar a transi\u00e7\u00e3o digital e ecol\u00f3gica e fortalecer as capacidades de vigil\u00e2ncia e resposta a emerg\u00eancias. Agora estamos a caminho do pr\u00f3ximo desafio, sempre defendendo os interesses da Europa.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Pr\u00f3ximos passos e antecedentes<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>O mandato atualizado da EMSA entra em vigor no vig\u00e9simo dia ap\u00f3s a sua publica\u00e7\u00e3o no Jornal Oficial da Uni\u00e3o Europeia. A revis\u00e3o do mandato da Ag\u00eancia Europeia para a Seguran\u00e7a Mar\u00edtima fez parte do pacote apresentado pela Comiss\u00e3o em junho de 2023 sobre seguran\u00e7a na navega\u00e7\u00e3o mar\u00edtima para modernizar e fortalecer a legisla\u00e7\u00e3o da UE sobre seguran\u00e7a e preven\u00e7\u00e3o da polui\u00e7\u00e3o.
