Met deze nieuwe infrastructuur kan de rederij haar veerboten in de toekomst aan beide zijden van de Fehmarnbelt van landstroom voorzien, zo meldt zij. In totaal zijn er 11 kilometer stroomkabels gelegd van het transformatorstation in Burg naar de veerhaven om de benodigde aansluitcapaciteit van 15 MW te waarborgen.<\/p>\n<p>De installatie van de laadpaal is nu voltooid en in gebruik genomen. Hiermee is Puttgarden volgens Scandilines klaar om de veerboten van het bedrijf van stroom te voorzien. Sinds maart is een soortgelijke aansluiting in de haven van R\u00f8dby operationeel. Deze werd ge\u00efntroduceerd samen met de inbedrijfstelling van de vrachtveer &#8222;The Baltic Whale&#8220; op de route Puttgarden-R\u00f8dby.<\/p>\n<p>&#8222;The Baltic Whale&#8220; behoort volgens Scandilines tot de grootste veerboten ter wereld die uitsluitend met landstroom kunnen worden aangedreven. Door de mogelijkheid om de veerboot zowel in R\u00f8dby als in Puttgarden op te laden, kan de laadtijd in elke haven worden verminderd tot 12 tot 15 minuten. Dit stelt Scandlines in staat om de vertrektijden van de veerboot vanuit beide havens te verhogen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scandlines.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener
