De 24-uursoperatie van het vrachtgebied zal op 26 juli 2026 van start gaan, waarbij de eerste commerci\u00eble vrachtvliegtuigen van Qantas Freight op die dag zullen landen. Simon Hickey, CEO van WSI, sprak zijn tevredenheid uit over de samenwerking met Texel Air en benadrukte dat de nieuwe vrachtknooppunt de luchtvrachtcapaciteiten van de stad aanzienlijk zal verhogen. Dit zal nieuwe banen cre\u00ebren en bedrijven helpen toegang te krijgen tot wereldmarkten.<\/p>\n<p>Hickey verklaarde dat Texel Air als partner in de Cargo-terminal operationele groep, waartoe ook Menzies Aviation en dnata Cargo behoren, een waardevolle bijdrage zal leveren aan de opening van het vrachtgebied. De ge\u00efntegreerde vrachtfaciliteit zal een 24-uursoperatie bieden en is goed bereikbaar via de onlangs gemoderniseerde Northern Road. Bovendien ligt het dicht bij belangrijke vracht- en logistieke centra in Kemps Creek en de zich ontwikkelende industriegebieden van de Aerotropolis.<\/p>\n<p>De vloot van Texel Air, die bestaat uit Boeing 737-800BCFs, is volgens Hickey goed gepositioneerd om aan de behoeften van de klanten te voldoen. Dit zal de diensten voor binnenlandse partners versterken, die wekelijks vracht door het hele land vervoeren, en tegelijkertijd internationale chartercapaciteiten bieden om de toegang tot lucratieve wereldmarkten te bevorderen.<\/p>\n<p>John Chisholm, oprichter en voorzitter van Texel Air, benadrukte dat de infrastructuur van de Western Sydney International Airport goed aansluit bij het bedrijfsmodel en de langetermijngroeiplannen van het bedrijf. Hij noemde het nieuwe vrachtgebied een transformerende infrastructuur voor de Australische luchtvracht, die een betrouwbare 24-uursoperatie mogelijk maakt. Texel Air zal in staat zijn om flexibel in te spelen op klantbehoeften, regelmatige vrachtstromen en tijdkritische zendingen.<\/p>\n<p>Het Cargo Precinct van WSI is ontworpen om mee te groeien met de vraag. Terwijl de eerste fase in juli 2026 wordt geopend, is er de mogelijkheid om de capaciteiten in de komende jaren aanzienlijk uit te breiden om te voldoen aan de behoeften van consumenten en bedrijven.<\/p>\n<p>Texel Air Australasia werd in 2022 opgericht en is een in Nieuw-Zeeland gevestigde ACMI- en charterluchtvrachtoperator. Het bedrijf maakt deel uit van de in Bahrein gevestigde Texel Air-groep en exploiteert een exclusieve vloot van Boeing 737-800BCF-vliegtuigen.
