De focus ligt op havens, waterwegen en multimodale logistiek.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"309\" data-end=\"648\">De Indiase minister van Havens, Scheepvaart en Waterwegen, Sarbananda Sonowal, heeft in Kolkata een investeringsprogramma van ongeveer 2,3 miljard USD voor West-Bengalen gepresenteerd. De projecten moeten voor 2031 worden uitgevoerd en volgens de regering meer dan 62.500 directe en indirecte banen cre\u00ebren.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"650\" data-end=\"986\">De plannen omvatten de oprichting van het multimodale logistiek centrum Balagarh, de uitbreiding en mechanisering van de havenfaciliteiten van Kolkata en Haldia, de uitbreiding van de binnenwaterwegen en nieuwe scheepsbouw- en reparatiecapaciteiten. Daarnaast zijn er investeringen gepland in riviertoerisme, oeverontwikkelingen en havengebonden industrieclusters.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"1358\">Voor de vrachtsector zijn de geplande verbeteringen van de haven- en waterweginfrastructuur bijzonder relevant. Volgens de regering is de vrachtomzet van de Syama Prasad Mookerjee Haven gestegen van 46,3 miljoen ton in 2014 naar 70,9 miljoen ton in het boekjaar 2025\/26. Het transportvolume op de binnenwaterwegen is in dezelfde periode bijna verviervoudigd.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1360\" data-end=\"1674\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">De projecten maken deel uit van de strategie &#8222;Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047&#8220;, waarmee India zijn maritieme infrastructuur wil moderniseren en de logistieke kosten wil verlagen. West-Bengalen moet daarbij worden gepositioneerd als een knooppunt voor de handel met Noordoost-Indi\u00eb en de buurlanden Bangladesh, Bhutan en Nepal.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1360\" data-end=\"1674\"
