(&#8222;K&#8220; LINE) heeft onlangs contracten ondertekend met de China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. voor de bouw van vier autotransporters die op LNG (vloeibaar aardgas) kunnen worden aangedreven. Deze schepen, die een capaciteit van 1.380 voertuigen hebben, zijn bestemd voor de &#8222;K&#8220; Line European Sea Highway Services GmbH (KESS), de Europese dochteronderneming van &#8222;K&#8220; LINE, zo meldt het bedrijf.<\/p>\n<p>De autotransporters zijn volgens &#8222;K&#8220; LINE ontworpen voor het Europese kortseeverkeer en moeten het transport van kleine ladingen vergemakkelijken. Een kenmerk van de schepen is hun aanpassing aan de groottebeperkingen die sommige Europese havens voor ge\u00efmporteerde voertuigen hanteren. &#8222;K&#8220; LINE verwacht dat de technische specificaties van de schepen KESS een concurrentievoordeel zullen bieden op de Europese kortseeverkeersmarkt.<\/p>\n<h3>Technische details en milieuaspecten<\/h3>\n<p>De schepen worden uitgerust met rechte achterramen die een laadcapaciteit van 60 ton bieden. Dit stelt KESS in staat om naast personenauto&#8217;s ook zware en oversized vracht te vervoeren. Een ander aspect van de nieuwe schepen is het gebruik van LNG als brandstof voor de dual-fuel aandrijving. Dit moet de uitstoot van kooldioxide (CO2) met 25% tot 30% verminderen en de uitstoot van zwaveloxiden (SOx), die bijdragen aan luchtvervuiling, vrijwel volledig verlagen in vergelijking met traditionele schepen die stookolie gebruiken. Bovendien is &#8222;K&#8220; LINE van plan om de broeikasgasemissies binnen de gehele bedrijfsorganisatie verder te verlagen door ook het gebruik van biodiesel en bio-LNG of vloeibaar biomethaan te overwegen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kline.co.jp\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.kline.co.jp<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;K&#8221;
