Dit werd op 28 mei 2026 bekendgemaakt. Air Atlanta is een internationaal opererende aanbieder van ACMI- en vliegtuigbeheer-diensten met hoofdkantoor in IJsland en vestigingen in IJsland en Malta. Door deze transactie wordt een strategisch partnerschap gecre\u00eberd dat het wereldwijde operationele platform van Atlas uitbreidt en de toegang tot capaciteiten van grootvliegtuigen in belangrijke internationale markten verbetert.<\/p>\n<p>In het kader van de overeenkomst zal Atlas Air, via haar dochteronderneming Titan Aviation Holdings, ook de vliegtuigen verwerven die in eigendom zijn van de Air Atlanta-groep. Deze vliegtuigen zullen vervolgens worden terugverhuurd aan de luchtvaartmaatschappijen van Air Atlanta om de operatie voort te zetten. Air Atlanta exploiteert een vloot van 14 grootvrachtvliegtuigen, waaronder Boeing 747 en 777, evenals vier passagiersvliegtuigen van het type 777.<\/p>\n<h3>Strategische groeiplannen<\/h3>\n<p>Michael Steen, CEO van Atlas Air Worldwide, sprak zich uit over de transactie en benadrukte dat deze het gedisciplineerde beleid van Atlas voor strategische groei in een structureel beperkte markt voor grootvrachtvliegtuigen weerspiegelt. &#8222;Door het combineren van het wereldwijde handelsplatform van Atlas met het complementaire bedrijfsmodel en de Europese aanwezigheid van Air Atlanta, vergroten we de toegang tot capaciteiten en versterken we onze mogelijkheid om klanten wereldwijd te bedienen,&#8220; aldus Steen. Hij benadrukte dat Air Atlanta gedurende tientallen jaren een sterke reputatie heeft opgebouwd en dat de samenwerking met het team van Air Atlanta een versterking voor beide organisaties zal betekenen.<\/p>\n<p>Het bestaande management van Air Atlanta zal de zaken blijven leiden, terwijl beide bedrijven commercieel samenwerken om wereldwijde groeikansen na te streven. Na de voltooiing van de transactie zal het managementteam van Air Atlanta een controlebelang van 51% in de luchtvaartmaatschappijen behouden.<\/p>\n<p>Baldvin M. Hermannsson, CEO van Air Atlanta, toonde zich verheugd over de samenwerking met Atlas en benadrukte dat deze transactie de langetermijngroeistrategie van het bedrijf versterkt. &#8222;Wij geloven sterk in de toekomstige groei van Air Atlanta, vooral door de strategische samenwerking met Atlas,&#8220; zei Hermannsson.
