De opening van een nieuwe cargo-terminal op de luchthaven van Palermo (PMO) vormt een belangrijke vooruitgang voor de luchtvrachtlogistiek in Zuid-Itali\u00eb. Met een oppervlakte van ongeveer 900 m\u00b2 biedt het drie keer zoveel ruimte als de vorige faciliteiten en is het ontworpen om te voldoen aan de groeiende eisen op het gebied van goederenvervoer.<\/p>\n

Modernisering en veiligheidsnormen<\/h3>\n

De nieuwe terminal is gevestigd in de voormalige aankomsthal van de luchthaven van de grootste stad van Sicili\u00eb. De verbouwingsmaatregelen omvatten een uitgebreide modernisering van de binnenruimtes en de technische installaties. Bovendien is het gebouw aangepast aan de nieuwste brandveiligheids- en aardbevingsnormen. De infrastructuur is uitgerust met geavanceerde veiligheidstechnologie\u00ebn, waaronder video-surveillance, rookdetectie- en afzuigsystemen, evenals moderne screeningfaciliteiten. Tot de nieuwe apparatuur behoren een r\u00f6ntgenmachine voor vracht en een standaard r\u00f6ntgenmachine voor personeel, die voldoen aan de internationale normen.<\/p>\n

Volgens Gianfranco Battisti, de algemeen directeur van Gesap, de exploitant van de luchthaven Falcone Borsellino, is de ingebruikname van de nieuwe cargo-terminal een strategische stap. Het versterkt de positie van de luchthaven op de luchtvrachtmarkt, die momenteel een groeiend en waardevol segment vertegenwoordigt. Battisti benadrukt dat de nieuwe infrastructuur zakelijke kansen voor de regio cre\u00ebert en de ontwikkeling van e-commerce, hoogwaardige agrarische producten, ge\u00efntegreerde logistiek en internationale handelsstromen bevordert.<\/p>\n

Effici\u00ebnte bedrijfsprocessen<\/h3>\n

Het ontwerp van de terminal maakt een effici\u00ebnte afhandeling van de goederenstromen mogelijk. Een overdekte helling aan de landzijde, uitgerust met drie hoogteverstelbare hellingen, vergemakkelijkt de toegang voor vrachtwagens en de snelle overdracht van vracht naar de controlegebieden. Aan de luchtzijde zorgt een speciale verkeersleiding voor een vlotte laadprocedure van de zendingen op de vertrekkende vliegtuigen.<\/p>\n

De cargo-terminal is bovendien de eerste stap van een uitgebreid infrastructuurplan, dat in de komende jaren een significante uitbreiding van de ruimtes voor goederenvervoer voorziet. Er is een verdrievoudiging van de huidige capaciteiten gepland om te voldoen aan de toenemende eisen in de luchtvrachtsector.<\/p>\n
