Het project benadrukt de rol van de haven als strategische maritieme toegangspoort die de economische herstel van Syri\u00eb ondersteunt en de handelsactiviteiten moet stimuleren.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens de bijeenkomst werden mogelijkheden besproken om de infrastructuur en de logistieke effici\u00ebntie te verbeteren, zodat de haven van Tartus goed is voorbereid op de verwachte toename van het handels- en vrachtvolume. Deze inspanningen zijn gericht op het positioneren van de haven als een belangrijke regionale knooppunt die handelsroutes tussen Zuid-Europa, het Midden-Oosten en Noord-Afrika verbindt.<\/p>\n<p>De ontwikkelingsplannen voor de haven van Tartus maken deel uit van een 30-jarige concessieovereenkomst die in juli 2025 met de Syrische regering is ondertekend. In het kader van deze overeenkomst heeft DP World zich verplicht om 800 miljoen USD te investeren in de modernisering van de infrastructuur, de capaciteitsuitbreiding en de invoering van moderne vrachtbehandelingssystemen.<\/p>\n<h3>Focus op maritieme ontwikkeling<\/h3>\n<p>DP World stelt zijn uitgebreide capaciteiten centraal in de inspanningen om de maritieme sector en de bredere economie van Syri\u00eb nieuw leven in te blazen. Door de versnelde ontwikkeling van de haven van Tartus is het bedrijf van plan de operationele effici\u00ebntie en de capaciteit voor de afhandeling van verschillende vrachtsoorten, waaronder algemene vracht, containers, stukgoed en roll-on\/roll-off-verkeer, te verhogen en daarmee het handelspotentieel van Syri\u00eb uit te breiden.<\/p>\n<p>Essa Kazim verklaarde: \u201eDP World is vastbesloten een significante bijdrage te leveren aan de ontwikkeling van de maritieme sector van Syri\u00eb door de haven van Tartus te moderniseren in overeenstemming met de hoogste internationale bedrijfsnormen. Onze gesprekken waren gericht op het versnellen van de uitvoering om de rol van de haven bij het bevorderen van de handel en het versterken van de handelsrelaties van Syri\u00eb met regionale markten te vergroten.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Kazim voegde eraan toe: \u201eDe herinrichting van de haven van Tartus wordt gezien als een strategische stap om belangrijke handelsroutes te herstellen en economische activiteiten te stimuleren. De modernisering van de havenoperaties zal naar verwachting de effici\u00ebntie verbeteren, handelsstromen vergemakkelijken en de wederopbouwinspanningen van Syri\u00eb ondersteunen.\u201c<\/p>\n<h3>Strategische ligging van de haven van Tartus<\/h3>\n<p>De haven van Tartus is de op \u00e9\u00e9n na grootste haven van het land en een belangrijke maritieme toegangspoort voor Syri\u00eb naar handelsroutes naar Europa, de Levant en Noord-Afrika. De strategische ligging verbetert de regionale verbinding en aanvult bestaande routes via de Bosporus en het Suezkanaal.<\/p>\n<p>Naast de haven zelf onderzoekt DP World mogelijkheden voor de ontwikkeling van logistieke zones, inlandse vrachtcentra en transitcorridors in samenwerking met lokale actoren om de haven van Tartus te integreren in regionale en wereldwijde toeleveringsketens.<\/p>\n<p>Met activiteiten in meer dan 80 landen en de afhandeling van ongeveer 10% van het wereldwijde containerverkeer brengt DP World uitgebreide ervaring mee in de ontwikkeling van grootschalige logistieke infrastructuren. Het project in Tartus breidt de portefeuille van het bedrijf in het Midden-Oosten uit en weerspiegelt de focus op opkomende handelsroutes als drijfveer voor langdurige groei.<\/p>\n<p>De handelsrelaties tussen de VAE en Syri\u00eb versterken zich al. De niet-oliehandel bereikte in 2025 een recordhoogte van 1,4 miljard USD, wat een stijging van 132,4% ten opzichte van het voorgaande jaar betekent en volgens DP World het wederzijds vertrouwen en de
