Deze ontwikkelingen vormen een uitdaging voor de verzekeringsmarkt, die niet langer theoretische risico&#8217;s kan negeren.<\/p>\n<p>Patrizia Kern-Ferretti, Chief Insurance Officer van Breeze, benadrukt dat de markt voor maritieme verzekeringen enige veerkracht heeft getoond, maar niet optimaal is afgestemd op de huidige eisen. &#8222;De oorlogsomstandigheden in de maritieme verzekering hebben zich vaak na crises ontwikkeld, en de markt heeft nu de kans om de onzekerheden van vandaag aan te pakken, voordat ze leiden tot geschillen in de toekomst,&#8220; legt Kern-Ferretti uit.<\/p>\n<p>Een centraal probleem is dat kopers van vrachtverzekeringen in verschillende belangrijke aspecten slechter bediend worden dan klanten die scheepvaartverzekeringen afsluiten. Terwijl de oorlogdekking voor schepen met een termijn van zeven dagen kan worden opgezegd zodra de goederen in transit zijn, kan de vrachtoorlogsdekking niet worden geannuleerd. Deze regeling biedt weliswaar een kritische bescherming voor vrachtbezitters, maar heeft ook zijn beperkingen. Zo kan de vrachtoorlogsdekking bijvoorbeeld bij het lossen of binnen 15 dagen na aankomst in de haven vervallen. Bovendien sluiten standaardformuleringen vaak de frustratie van de reis uit, en er is geen direct equivalent voor de detentieklausule voor schepen, wat de vrachtbezitters in een onzekere positie laat.<\/p>\n<p>Breeze waarschuwt dat deze hiaten steeds belangrijker worden, aangezien conflicten leiden tot routevermijding, blokkades en vertraagde transporten, wat technische verzekeringskwesties omzet in praktische risico&#8217;s voor vervoerders, logistieke dienstverleners en verzenders. &#8222;Dit is geen reden tot alarm, maar we hebben meer duidelijkheid nodig, een betere productontwikkeling en een polisvoorwaarden die het huidige risicomilieu weerspiegelt,&#8220; aldus Kern-Ferretti.<\/p>\n<p>Het bedrijf pleit voor een bredere discussie over de vrachtoorlogsdekking en een innovatie in de verzekeringssector die de bescherming begrijpelijker, toegankelijker en toepasbaarder maakt voor blootgestelde handelsroutes. Kern-Ferretti ziet de kans voor de markt om de vrachtoorlogsdekking te moderniseren, voordat aanhoudende verstoringen de polisvoorwaarden door geschillen op de proef stellen.<\/p>\n<p>Breeze zet zich
