In het kader van deze overeenkomst zal Kuehne+Nagel het product \u201eShip Green\u201c van Hapag-Lloyd gebruiken om de CO\u2082-voetafdruk van zijn zeevrachttransporten te verminderen.<\/p>\n<h3>Overeenkomst voor emissiereductie<\/h3>\n<p>De overeenkomst vormt een belangrijke stap in de samenwerking tussen de twee bedrijven. Voor de periode van april tot december 2026 zullen ongeveer 3.300 TEU vracht, die op de handelsroute van Oost-Azi\u00eb naar Noord-Europa wordt vervoerd, onder deze overeenkomst vallen. Door het gebruik van gecertificeerde biobrandstoffen, die uit afval en reststoffen worden gewonnen, wordt verwacht dat ongeveer 2.979 ton CO\u2082e-emissies op basis van de totale levenscyclus worden vermeden.<\/p>\n<p>Danny Smolders, Managing Director Global Sales bij Hapag-Lloyd, sprak zich uit over de samenwerking: \u201eWe zijn trots om onze samenwerking met Kuehne+Nagel naar een hoger niveau te tillen. Met Ship Green bieden we een schaalbare oplossing die onze klanten in staat stelt om hun Scope-3-emissies actief te verminderen. Deze overeenkomst toont aan hoe sterke partnerschappen kunnen worden omgezet in tastbare klimaatbescherming.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Paolo Montrone, Head Global Sea Logistics bij Kuehne+Nagel, voegde hieraan toe: \u201eDe decarbonisatie van de scheepvaart vereist transparantie, samenwerking en economisch haalbare oplossingen. Door sterke partnerschappen, transparante emissiegegevens en de mogelijkheid van Scope-3-reducties helpen we onze klanten om op een geloofwaardige en marktgerichte manier te navigeren, gericht op het versnellen van het gebruik van alternatieve brandstoffen. We zijn verheugd om onze samenwerking met Hapag-Lloyd uit te breiden om dit te realiseren.\u201c<\/p>\n<h3>Mechanisme voor emissievermindering<\/h3>\n<p>De overeenkomst is gebaseerd op een boek-en-claimmechanisme, dat klanten in staat stelt om geverifieerde emissiereducties te claimen, ongeacht de fysieke brandstoftoewijzing aan specifieke schepen of routes. Alleen de emissiereducties uit biobrandstoffen die in de vloot van Hapag-Lloyd worden gebruikt, worden aan Kuehne+Nagel toegewezen. Dit model maakt schaalbare klimaatbeschermingsmaatregelen mogelijk en gebruikt biobrandstoffen als overgangsoplossing.<\/p>\n<p>Beide bedrijven hebben ambitieuze klimaatdoelen gesteld. Hapag-Lloyd streeft ernaar om tegen 2045 een netto-nul operationele balans voor zijn vloot te bereiken, terwijl Kuehne+Nagel zich heeft gecommitteerd om tegen 2050 netto-nul-emissies in de gehele waardeketen te bereiken.
