Het project is geselecteerd in het kader van een subsidieprogramma van het Japanse Ministerie van Economie en moet de basis leggen voor het toekomstige gebruik van ammoniak als maritieme brandstof.<\/p>\n<p>In het project wordt voor het eerst een bevoorrading via de \u00abShip-to-Ship-methode\u00bb getest. Het doel is om veiligheidsnormen te ontwikkelen en operationele processen te defini\u00ebren.<\/p>\n<p>Ammoniak wordt beschouwd als een potenti\u00eble emissie-arme energiedrager, maar stelt vanwege zijn giftige eigenschappen hoge eisen aan techniek en veiligheid.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore biedt als &#8217;s werelds grootste bunkerhaven geschikte voorwaarden voor dergelijke tests. Naast haalbaarheidsstudies staan milieu- en veiligheidsaspecten centraal. De betrokken bedrijven willen zo een bijdrage leveren aan de decarbonisatie van de scheepvaart en de basis leggen voor commerci\u00eble toepassingen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kline.co.jp\"
