Volgens de huidige balans van de Oostenrijkse Federal Railways (\u00d6BB) maakten in totaal 559 miljoen passagiers gebruik van de bussen en treinen van het bedrijf, wat een stijging van 1,4 % ten opzichte van het voorgaande jaar betekent. De nieuwe Koralmbahn, die eind 2025 in gebruik werd genomen, trekt dagelijks ongeveer 7.000 passagiers aan, aldus het bedrijf.<\/p>\n<h3>Financi\u00eble resultaten en uitdagingen<\/h3>\n<p>De totale opbrengsten van de \u00d6BB stegen met 8 %, terwijl het resultaat voor rente en belastingen (EBIT) met 4 % toenam. Desondanks daalde het resultaat voor belastingen (EBT) met 40 % tot 68,1 miljoen euro. Het goederenvervoer ervaart volgens het bedrijf een afnemende vraag als gevolg van de industri\u00eble recessie. De transportprestatie in deze sector daalde met 4 % tot 26,2 miljard nettotonkilometers en het registreerde een negatief resultaat van -135,5 miljoen euro. De \u00d6BB hebben naar eigen zeggen maatregelen genomen om de concurrentiekracht in het goederenvervoer te verhogen.<\/p>\n<p>Andreas Matth\u00e4 (afgebeeld links), CEO van de \u00d6BB, gaf commentaar op de resultaten: \u201eGezien de moeilijke economische situatie hebben we ons met het resultaat van 2025 toch goed gehouden.
