Deze verbetering verhoogt het vermogen van de &#8222;W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 25&#8220; ammoniakmotor naar 315 kW per cilinder bij 900 t\/min en 345 kW per cilinder bij 1.000 t\/min, aldus het bedrijf. Hiermee bereikt de motor het prestatieniveau van de op LNG aangedreven &#8222;W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 25DF-motor&#8220;. Een centraal voordeel van deze ontwikkeling is de vermindering van het aantal benodigde cilinders bij een gelijkblijvende vermogensbehoefte. Dit leidt volgens de fabrikant tot een vereenvoudigde installatie en onderhoud.<\/p>\n<h3>Flexibiliteit bij de brandstofkeuze<\/h3>\n<p>De nieuwe prestatieniveau van de &#8222;W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 25&#8220; ammoniakmotor, die een bereik van 1,9 tot 3,1 MW dekt, is geschikt voor diverse toepassingen, zowel als hoofdmotor als hulpmotor. De aanpassing aan het prestatieniveau van de op LNG aangedreven &#8222;W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 25DF&#8220; verbetert bovendien de retrofitbaarheid van de motor. Dit moet scheepseigenaren meer flexibiliteit bieden met betrekking tot de brandstofkeuze.
