Het 30 meter lange staalzuigvleugelsysteem werd onlangs gepresenteerd in Heeg en is gebaseerd op de principes van de 3-serie vleugels, aldus het bedrijf.<\/p>\n<p>De 5-serie richt zich volgens de fabrikant op exploitanten van diepzeeschepen die op zoek zijn naar mogelijkheden om het brandstofverbruik te verminderen en de naleving van regelgeving te verbeteren. De marktintroductie van dit nieuwe model volgt op de verkoop van meer dan 150 zuigvleugels voor verschillende types schepen. Econowind ziet zich gevestigd in de markten van de kust- en regionale scheepvaart en streeft er nu naar om grotere schepen en langere handelsroutes te bedienen. Het bedrijf beschouwt het potentieel voor brandstofbesparing door windondersteunde aandrijfsystemen als bijzonder voordelig.<\/p>\n<p>De eerste installatie van de 5-serie is voor deze zomer gepland op een schip van Boomsma Shipping.
