Het kustmotorschip *Amadeus Titanium*, dat behoort tot Amadeus Schiffahrts- und Speditions GmbH, is uitgerust met een windassistentiesysteem dat gebruikmaakt van windkracht ter ondersteuning van de aandrijving. Deze technologie, bekend als VentoFoils\u00ae van Econowind, maakt een gemiddelde brandstofbesparing van ongeveer tien procent mogelijk en draagt zo bij aan de vermindering van de CO\u2082-uitstoot van het schip. De ombouw vond plaats in de Nederlandse havenstad Harlingen en werd eind maart 2026 afgerond.<\/p>\n<p>Nils Peterzelka, Sourcing Manager Regional Bulk Shipping bij Covestro, benadrukt het belang van deze maatregel: \u201eMet onze logistieke partner HGK Shipping hebben we een zeer lange vertrouwensrelatie. De uitrusting van de *Amadeus Titanium* vormt een belangrijke stap in deze samenwerking en stimuleert een duurzamere inrichting van onze toeleveringsketens.\u201d Wolfgang Nowak, Managing Director van Amadeus Schiffahrts- und Speditions GmbH, voegt toe: \u201eDoor het gebruik van WAPS, oftewel \u2018Wind Assisted Propulsion Systems\u2019 zoals de VentoFoils\u00ae, kunnen we in het short-sea-verkeer voor Covestro brandstof besparen. Dit heeft zowel economische als ecologische voordelen.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Strategische partnerschappen voor emissie-arme logistiek<\/h3>\n<p>De bedrijven streven ernaar de transportlogistiek in de maritieme sector emissie-armer te maken. Steffen Bauer, CEO van de HGK-groep en voorzitter van de directie van HGK Shipping, benadrukt: \u201eDe technologische vooruitgang zal in de toekomst verdere opties cre\u00ebren om de transportlogistiek in de maritieme sector en in het systeem van waterwegen emissie-armer te maken. Met strategische partners zoals Covestro stimuleren we de mogelijkheden die de markt bijvoorbeeld biedt bij nieuwe aandrijftechnieken of die we bij scheepsontwerpen, vaak samen met onze opdrachtgevers, ontwikkelen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cristina-Maria Danila, Head of Global Supply Chain &amp; Logistics bij Covestro, legt de langetermijndoelen van het bedrijf uit: \u201eOns doel is om onze CO\u2082-uitstoot in de logistiek tegen 2035 met 30 procent te verlagen en al in 2050 klimaatneutraal te zijn. Vandaag is een verdere stap in onze transformatie naar een groene logistiek.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>De samenwerking tussen Covestro en HGK Shipping heeft een lange geschiedenis die zich uitstrekt over de binnenvaart en kortere zeevrachten. In 2025 ondertekenden de bedrijven op de vakbeurs \u201etransport logistic\u201d in M\u00fcnchen de verlenging van hun samenwerking tot 2040.
