Het bedrijf presenteert met de &#8222;Eco Rotor Sail&#8220; een achteraanbouw die gericht is op het verhogen van de duw en het verlagen van de energiebehoefte. Bovendien moet het systeem de windhoeken uitbreiden.<\/p>\n<p>Flettner-rotoren, die in de jaren 1920 voor het eerst werden gebruikt, winnen volgens het bedrijf steeds meer aan belang, aangezien scheepseigenaren naar manieren zoeken om het brandstofverbruik en de emissies te verminderen. Een centraal probleem bij de bredere toepassing van deze technologie is echter de betrouwbaarheid van de prestaties bij wisselende windrichtingen. Het oorspronkelijke concept van Anton Flettner is door de jaren heen slechts minimaal veranderd.<\/p>\n<p>Het ontwerp van EcosNavis is gericht op het uitbreiden van het effectieve &#8222;windvenster&#8220; van de rotor. Door de luchtstroom in de kielwater van de rotor te hervormen, moet een hogere duw bij tegelijkertijd een lager koppel worden bereikt.
