De groeiende connectiviteit van schepen leidt ertoe dat exploitanten worden geconfronteerd met een verscheidenheid aan operationele verstoringen, fraude en veiligheidsrisico&#8217;s. Een centraal probleem is de beperkte zichtbaarheid van de boordsystemen, die door cyberbedreigingen kan worden uitgebuit.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens het bedrijf heeft de digitalisering van de scheepvaart veel voordelen, maar hebben veel exploitanten nog steeds geen duidelijk en actueel overzicht van de systemen en software die in hun vloot worden gebruikt. Deze ontbrekende transparantie bemoeilijkt het identificeren van kwetsbaarheden en het begrijpen van de mogelijke gevolgen van beveiligingsinbreuken.<\/p>\n<h3>Uitdagingen van maritieme operaties<\/h3>\n<p>De uitdagingen worden volgens GTMaritime versterkt door de omstandigheden in de maritieme sector. Schepen zijn vaak gedurende langere tijd losgekoppeld van de landsystemen, wat de synchronisatie en uitwisseling van informatie bemoeilijkt. Bovendien is de beschikbare bandbreedte vaak beperkt en vari\u00ebren de configuraties van de boordelektronica sterk. Deze factoren dragen volgens het bedrijf bij aan de complicaties bij het onderhouden van nauwkeurige systeemregistraties en kunnen ervoor zorgen dat potenti\u00eble risico&#8217;s onopgemerkt blijven.<\/p>\n<p>In de komende jaren wordt een toename van incidenten verwacht die door misleiding worden veroorzaakt, aldus GTMaritime. Naast traditionele cyberaanvallen zijn ook frauduleuze instructies, gemanipuleerde communicatie en operationele fouten die door systemen worden veroorzaakt, te verwachten.
