Drie Europese bedrijven, ALICE, Einride en Gruber Logistics, hebben zich aangesloten bij de nieuw opgerichte expertgroep EURIAS, die zich bezighoudt met de toekomst van onderzoek en innovatie in de automobielsector van de Europese Unie. De eerste bijeenkomst van de groep vond plaats op 27 maart 2026 in Brussel. Deze ontwikkeling benadrukt dat logistiek niet langer slechts een achtergestelde functie in de automobielinnovatie is, maar een centrale rol speelt.<\/p>\n

EURIAS, de afkorting voor European Union Research and Innovation for the Automotive Sector, omvat ongeveer 60 organisaties, waaronder autofabrikanten, leveranciers, onderzoeks- en technologie-instellingen en universiteiten. De groep heeft als doel de concurrentiekracht van de Europese automobielsector te versterken en belangrijke toekomstthema’s te identificeren.<\/p>\n

Rol van ALICE in de expertgroep<\/h3>\n

ALICE, de Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe, speelt een essenti\u00eble rol in het bevorderen van strategisch onderzoek en de implementatie van innovaties binnen EURIAS. De organisatie brengt ervaringen in vanuit grote Europese initiatieven zoals 2ZERO, CCAM en de European Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Alliance (ECAVA). Deze initiatieven zijn gericht op het bevorderen van de transformatie van de automobielsector en het ontwikkelen van innovatieve logistieke oplossingen.<\/p>\n

Fernando Liesa, secretaris-generaal van ALICE, benadrukt het belang van EURIAS: \u201eEURIAS is een cruciale stap om ervoor te zorgen dat Europa’s innovaties in de automobielsector de markt bereiken en volledig worden ge\u00efntegreerd in de echte logistieke processen en systemen.\u201d Hij benadrukt dat de integratie van logistiek in de discussies over onderzoek en innovatie in de automobielsector helpt om technologische ambities om te zetten in praktische oplossingen voor de decarbonisatie en automatisering van het wegvervoer.<\/p>\n

Einride en Gruber Logistics: perspectieven voor de toekomst<\/h3>\n

Einride, een bedrijf dat zich richt op autonome en emissievrije transporten, brengt waardevolle perspectieven over nieuwe vrachtwagentechnologie\u00ebn in de groep. Henrik Green, Chief Technology Officer bij Einride, legt uit: \u201eDe Europese goederenvervoersector staat op een cruciaal keerpunt. Via EURIAS zet Einride zich in om autonome en elektrische technologie\u00ebn in het verkeersbeleid van het continent te integreren.\u201d Het bedrijf is van plan zijn ervaringen in de grootschalige invoering van emissievrije, autonome goederenvervoer in te brengen om een geschikt regelgevend en innovatief kader te cre\u00ebren.<\/p>\n

Gruber Logistics benadrukt ook de noodzaak van nauwe samenwerking tussen beleidsmakers, onderzoekers en de industrie. Andrea Condotta, Director Public Affairs, Innovation & Sustainability van Gruber Logistics, zegt: \u201eWij brengen onze ervaring in het beheer van complexe, internationale toeleveringsketens in om ervoor te zorgen dat innovaties praktisch en inzetbaar worden.\u201d Met deze betrokkenheid bevestigt Gruber Logistics zijn inzet om actief bij te dragen aan de vormgeving van de toekomst van de automobielsector op EU-niveau.<\/p>\n

De expertgroep heeft duidelijk gedefinieerde taken: zij ondersteunt de Europese Commissie door praktisch vakkennis te bieden over onderzoeks- en innovprioriteiten langs de gehele waardeketen van de automobielsector. Bovendien zal de groep tot juni 2026 werken aan een Strategische Onderzoeks-, Innovatie- en Implementatieagenda (SRIDA), die de basis moet vormen voor toekomstige EU-instrumenten.<\/p>\n

De aanbevelingen die in het kader van EURIAS worden ontwikkeld, moeten worden ge\u00efmplementeerd in het volgende Europese meerjarig financieel kader (2028\u20132034). Dit zal bijdragen aan het bevorderen van de langetermijninnovatie en concurrentiekracht van de automobielsector in Europa.<\/p>\n
