Deze eis komt tegen de achtergrond van een wereldwijde crisis in de toeleveringsketens en stijgende olieprijzen. Bijzonder in de schijnwerpers staat het bedrijf DP World, dat in Australi\u00eb verschillende containerterminals exploiteert en een uitgebreide automatiserings- en KI-agenda volgt, die wordt aangestuurd door de buitenlandse eigenaren van het bedrijf.<\/p>\n<p>DP World beheert terminals in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne en Fremantle en heeft daarmee een dominante positie op de Australische containerterminalmarkt verworven. Het Australische management van het bedrijf volgt een agenda voor de implementatie van KI en automatisering, die is ge\u00efnitieerd door de voormalige wereldwijde CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens de MUA heeft DP World de afgelopen jaren honderden miljoenen dollars verdiend uit Australische bedrijven en consumenten, maar nauwelijks belasting in Australi\u00eb betaald. Meer dan een decennium lang betaalde het bedrijf geen vennootschapsbelasting, terwijl de lonen van de werknemers en de daarmee samenhangende belastingen, die in 2025 bijna 50 miljoen USD bedroegen, de belangrijkste bijdragen aan de economie van het land vormden.<\/p>\n<h3>Rapport over automatisering en banenverlies<\/h3>\n<p>Samen met het Centre for International Corporate Tax Accountability and Research (Cictar) heeft de MUA in het Australische parlement het <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/636a46c59a62847f542195d2\/t\/69bfa4856f5ac0743eeadbe8\/1774167173096\/MUA_DP_28p_web+version.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rapport &#8222;Banenverlies en winstverschuiving bij DP World: Hoe KI-automatisering het economische welzijn van Australi\u00eb bedreigt<\/a>&#8220; gepresenteerd. Het rapport beschrijft hoe Dubai Ports van plan is om grootschalige KI-automatisering in Australi\u00eb in te voeren, wat tot 1.000 banen, oftewel meer dan 60% van het personeel, in gevaar zou kunnen brengen. De voorgestelde automatisering zou gekwalificeerde, vakbondsgeregistreerde banen vervangen door autonome voertuigen en op afstand bediende kranen. Deze initiatief staat in tegenstelling tot het Nationale KI-plan van de Australische regering, dat een consultatie van werknemers en vakbonden voorziet.<\/p>\n<p>Het rapport wijst erop dat het hoofddoel van de automatisering niet de verbetering van de effici\u00ebntie van de toeleveringsketen is, maar het verlagen van de arbeidskosten en het verhogen van de winsten. Hogere kosten, die aan bedrijven en consumenten worden doorberekend, dragen bij aan de inflatie.<\/p>\n<p>De MUA heeft een reeks maatregelen ge\u00ebist om de Australische toeleveringsketen te waarborgen, om de gemeenschap en de economie te beschermen tegen wereldwijde schokken. Deze eisen zijn bijzonder relevant gezien de recente oliecrisis, die werd veroorzaakt door geopolitieke spanningen.<\/p>\n<p>De aanbevelingen van het rapport omvatten onder andere:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Strenge toezicht en transparantie voor KI-systemen op de werkplek<br \/>\n&#8211; Bescherming van werknemersgegevens en een verbod op invasieve surveillancetechnieken<br \/>\n&#8211; Prioritering van veiligheid, werkzekerheid en openbaar nut boven bedrijfswinsten<br \/>\n&#8211; Waarborging van volledige onderhandelingsrechten en bescherming van het arbeidsconflict bij de invoering van KI of
