De schepen &#8222;Basle Express&#8220; en &#8222;Essen Express&#8220; (foto), die elk een capaciteit van 14.000 TEU hebben, kregen aanpassingen aan de hoofdmotoren en de turboladercomponenten om het brandstofverbruik bij lagere motorbelastingen te verlagen. De uitgevoerde zeetests en de daaropvolgende bedrijfsgegevens tonen besparingen van meer dan 10 g\/kWh, wat overeenkomt met een vermindering van het totale verbruik met 5% in bepaalde belastinggebieden.<\/p>\n<h3>Effici\u00ebntieverbetering door maatwerkoplossingen<\/h3>\n<p>De op maat gemaakte EPLO-oplossing van Accelleron en HMS zorgt ervoor dat schepen die met lagere motortoerentallen worden bediend, bijvoorbeeld om te voldoen aan de eisen voor energie-effici\u00ebntie en de koolstofkosten te verlagen, zo effici\u00ebnt mogelijk werken. De twee schepen van Hapag-Lloyd zijn onlangs uitgerust met verbeteringen aan de romp en de schroef om de vereiste snelheid met aanzienlijk minder energie te bereiken. Door de EPLO-optimalisatie en de aanpassingen van de turboladers kunnen de schepen de benodigde aandrijfkracht blijven leveren, terwijl er extra brandstofbesparingen worden gerealiseerd.<\/p>\n<p>De optimalisatie van de schepen werd uitgevoerd in een effici\u00ebnt project dat na een technische beoordeling binnen slechts vier weken na de opdrachtverlening werd afgerond. Vanwege de positieve resultaten is Hapag-Lloyd van plan de implementatie uit te breiden naar de resterende acht schepen van de Dortmund Express-klasse.<\/p>\n<h3>Meetbare voordelen en naleving van regelgeving<\/h3>\n<p>Thomas H\u00e4ni, Senior Engine Expert bij Accelleron, benadrukte: \u201eDeze opmerkelijke verbetering van de motorprestaties, die onder re\u00eble bedrijfsomstandigheden is gemeten, bevestigt de technische robuustheid van de EPLO-optimalisaties voor schepen die in deeltijdoperatie werken. De samenwerking met Hapag-Lloyd en HMS heeft een schaalbare retrofitbenadering vastgesteld die zowel de operationele effici\u00ebntie als de naleving van regelgeving in de containervervoer ondersteunt.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>San Min, SVP voor Green &amp; Digital Sales bij HD HMS, voegde toe: \u201eDeze EPLO-oplossing vertegenwoordigt een belangrijke vooruitgang die tegelijkertijd een blijvende verbetering van de motorprestaties en de onmiddellijke naleving van de IMO-regelgeving bereikt. Tot nu toe hebben HMS en Accelleron gezamenlijk EPLO-contracten voor meer dan 100 schepen met een verscheidenheid aan rederijen wereldwijd veiliggesteld.
