De strategisch belangrijke doorgang transporteert ongeveer een vijfde van de wereldwijde olievoorziening en wordt daarom beschouwd als een bijzonder gevoelige knooppunt van de wereldhandel.<\/p>\n<p>Voor rederijen en logistieke bedrijven hebben geopolitieke risico&#8217;s directe gevolgen. Zelfs de mogelijkheid van een escalatie leidt ertoe dat routes worden herzien, dienstregelingen worden aangepast en capaciteiten opnieuw worden gepland. Vertragingen van individuele schepen kunnen zich snel verspreiden naar meerdere havens, terminals en downstream transportketens.<\/p>\n<p>Gegevens en AI winnen aan betekenis<\/p>\n<p>Volgens branche-experts zoals Sjoerd de Jager, CEO en mede-oprichter van PortXchange, wordt veerkracht in de scheepvaart steeds meer bepaald door gegevens en kunstmatige intelligentie. Moderne analysesystemen kunnen bewegingen van schepen, historische vaartgegevens en omgevingsomstandigheden evalueren en zo nauwkeurigere aankomstprognoses opstellen.<\/p>\n<p>In combinatie met haven- en terminalgegevens kunnen mogelijke verstoringen eerder worden herkend. Operators kunnen ligplaatsen aanpassen, terminals middelen opnieuw plannen en logistieke bedrijven hun transportketens tijdig omstellen.<\/p>\n<p>Basis blijft betrouwbare informatie<\/p>\n<p>De effectiviteit van dergelijke systemen hangt echter sterk af van de kwaliteit van de onderliggende gegevens. In de maritieme sector zijn informatie vaak verspreid over verschillende actoren en systemen. Vooral bij snelle veranderingen kan deze fragmentatie beslissingen vertragen.<\/p>\n<p>De Jager ziet daarom drie centrale factoren voor een veerkrachtigere scheepvaart: betrouwbare operationele gegevens, AI-gestuurde analyses en flexibele operationele processen.
