De Filipijnse terminaloperator NorthPort zet de modernisering van zijn haveninfrastructuur voort. Centraal staat de structurele versterking van Pier 14, die deel uitmaakt van een driejarig investeringsprogramma voor de modernisering van de terminal.<\/p>\n

Volgens het bedrijf zijn de bouwwerkzaamheden aan de tweede en derde secties van de kade, elk 43 m lang, eerder dan gepland afgerond. Hierdoor is de stabiliteit van de kade van Terminal 1 verbeterd en is de weerbaarheid van de installatie tegen seismische belastingen verhoogd. Sinds februari ligt de focus van de werkzaamheden op de vierde en laatste sectie van de pier, met een lengte van 53 m.<\/p>\n

Parallel aan deze werkzaamheden worden verdere moderniseringsmaatregelen uitgevoerd. Dit omvat de vernieuwing van de resterende dekoppervlakken en reparaties aan beschadigde gebieden boven het dek om structurele schade te voorkomen. Daarnaast wordt het bestaande fendersysteem van 700 mm opgewaardeerd naar 1.000 mm cell fenders om het veilig aanleggen van schepen te verbeteren.<\/p>\n

De werkzaamheden worden parallel aan de lopende terminaloperaties uitgevoerd om onderbrekingen tot een minimum te beperken. Verdere bouwfasen moeten voor 2027 zijn afgerond en op lange termijn de groeiende binnenlandse zeevracht ondersteunen.<\/p>\n
