Het schip is gebouwd door de Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Company Limited (SWS) en de China Shipbuilding Trading Company Limited (CSTC), die beide behoren tot de China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC). Met de &#8222;Grande Seoul&#8220; breidt de Italiaanse rederij haar vloot uit met het negende schip dat is voorbereid voor toekomstig gebruik van ammoniak als alternatieve, emissievrije brandstof.<\/p>\n<p>De &#8222;Grande Seoul&#8220; heeft een lengte van 200 m, een breedte van 38 m en een bruto tonnage van ongeveer 77.500 t. Het schip is ontworpen voor het transport van voertuigen, waaronder elektrische auto&#8217;s en voertuigen met conventionele aandrijving, evenals andere rollende goederen. Het kan tot 9.241 Car Equivalent Units (CEU) vervoeren en beschikt over vier dekken die ook zware ladingen tot 250 t en hoogtes tot 6,5 m kunnen opnemen.<\/p>\n<p>Zoals bij haar zusterschepen, waaronder de &#8222;Grande Tianjin&#8220; en de &#8222;Grande Auckland&#8220;, onderscheidt de &#8222;Grande Seoul&#8220; zich niet alleen door haar hoge transportcapaciteit, maar ook door haar geavanceerde milieuprestaties. De CO\u2082-emissie-index per vervoerde eenheid is in vergelijking met de vorige generatie PCTC-schepen met tot 50% verlaagd.<\/p>\n<p>Het schip is uitgerust met een moderne elektronische motor die een van de laagste specifieke brandstofverbruiken in zijn klasse heeft en voldoet aan de strengste internationale normen voor CO\u2082-, NOx- en SOx-emissies. Bovendien heeft de Grande Seoul de classificatie &#8222;Ammonia Ready&#8220; ontvangen van het Italiaanse scheepsregister RINA, wat betekent dat een ombouw naar ammoniak als emissievrije brandstof in de toekomst mogelijk is. Tijdens het ligplaats kan het schip bovendien worden voorzien van landstroom, wat een milieuvriendelijke alternatieve oplossing biedt voor het gebruik van conventionele brandstoffen in de haven.<\/p>\n<p>Met haar naam eert de &#8222;Grande Seoul&#8220; de hoofdstad van Zuid-Korea, die sinds 2022 deel uitmaakt van het wereldwijde netwerk van de Grimaldi Group. Het bedrijf biedt sindsdien regelmatige verbindingen tussen Europa en Zuid-Korea in beide richtingen aan en kan dankzij een uitgebreid netwerk van meer dan 150 havens in 60 landen Zuid-Korea verbinden met de belangrijkste handelsroutes ter wereld.<\/p>\n<p>In de komende dagen zal de &#8222;Grande Seoul&#8220; China verlaten om haar maiden voyage op de Azi\u00eb-Europa-route te beginnen. De eerste reis voert van Shanghai (Taicang) met een lading van meer dan 6.200 personenauto&#8217;s en ongeveer 1.600 lineaire meters andere rollende vracht naar de havens van Antwerpen (Belgi\u00eb), Portbury (Verenigd Koninkrijk) en Vigo (Spanje).<\/p>\n<p>Emanuele Grimaldi, CEO van de Grimaldi Group, verklaarde: &#8222;Met de toevoeging van het schip aan onze vloot versterken we onze diensten voor het transport van voertuigen tussen Azi\u00eb en de rest van de wereld.&#8220;
