Hiermee heeft de intermodale netwerkoperator zijn verkeersvolume ten opzichte van het voorgaande jaar met 4,3% verhoogd. Ondanks moeilijke randvoorwaarden kon het bedrijf zijn positie in het Europese gecombineerde vervoer, en met name op de Rijn-Alpen TEN-T-corridor, behouden.<\/p>\n<p>In totaal verwerkte Hupac ongeveer 1,85 miljoen TEU in het continentaal en maritiem achterlandvervoer. Vooral in het transalpiene verkeer door Zwitserland groeide het volume met 4,5%, oftewel 24.100 zendingen. Extra hoeveelheden op de route Belgi\u00eb-Itali\u00eb droegen bij aan dit resultaat.<\/p>\n<p>De ontwikkeling vond echter plaats onder veeleisende omstandigheden. Bouwplaatsen, omleidingen en spoorafsluitingen belastten de prestaties van de spoorinfrastructuur. Vooral ingrijpend was de meerweekse afsluiting van de Rijnvallei-route in juni. Desondanks kon Hupac extra hoeveelheden vervoeren.<\/p>\n<p>Ook in het lopende jaar verwacht het bedrijf beperkingen door bouwwerkzaamheden. Geplande afsluitingen in Duitsland en Itali\u00eb zullen het verkeer opnieuw be\u00efnvloeden. Samen met spoorpartners werkt Hupac daarom aan stabiele omleidingsconcepten en investeert het in veerkrachtigere transportaanbiedingen.
