Ze vervangt de al lang gebruikte handmatige schroefkoppeling en automatiseert het huidige koppelen. Naast de mechanische en pneumatische verbinding van de goederenwagons, die via persluchtleidingen voor de remmen verloopt, maakt de DAK ook de overdracht van stroom en data mogelijk.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens de RCG speelt het bedrijf een actieve rol in de ontwikkeling van de DAK. Met de &#8222;DAK-demotrein&#8220; wordt het systeem getest en verder ontwikkeld, met als doel het gereed te maken voor serieproductie. Recente wintertests in Oostenrijk hebben volgens de RCG aangetoond dat de technologie ook onder veeleisende klimatologische omstandigheden betrouwbaar functioneert. Na technische voorbereidingen en de integratie van verschillende koppelsystemen is de &#8222;DAK-demotrein&#8220; in gebruik genomen. Deze testtrein dient volgens de RCG om de interactie van mechanica, elektriciteit en dataoverdracht te controleren en ervoor te zorgen dat de systemen fabrikantoverschrijdend compatibel
