De eerste aanloop van de nieuwe dienst vond begin februari plaats, toen het 2.556 TEU tellende schip &#8222;Etoile&#8220; in de haven van Melbourne aankwam.<\/p>\n<h3>Verbinden tussen Australi\u00eb en de VS<\/h3>\n<p>De Eagle-Service biedt een directe verbinding tussen Australi\u00eb en Nieuw-Zeeland, evenals havens aan de oostkust van de VS. Tot de aangediende havens behoren onder andere Philadelphia en Savannah. De dienst maakt gebruik van een hub-and-spoke-netwerk dat via Panama opereert. Hierbij zijn twee tussenstops in Rodman (Panama Pacific) en een andere in Cristobal (Panama Atlantic) voorzien.
