Deze faciliteit vormt een belangrijk controlepunt binnen de logistieke keten voor levende dieren van CargoLand by LGG en waarborgt dat elk dier dat LGG binnenkomt of verlaat, volledig voldoet aan de voorschriften voor dierengezondheid en biosecurity. Alle levende dieren die de luchthaven doorkruisen, zijn onderworpen aan strenge veterinaire controles om zowel het welzijn van de dieren als de integriteit van de grensoverschrijdende handel te beschermen. De opening van het gemoderniseerde Vet Center is een belangrijke stap in de versterking van de infrastructuur van CargoLand by LGG, die zich richt op het gereguleerde en verantwoordelijke vervoer van levende dieren.<\/p>\n<h3>Moderne uitrusting voor effectieve controles<\/h3>\n<p>Het gerenoveerde Vet Center beschikt nu over volledig uitgeruste inspectiezones en een ge\u00efsoleerd quarantainegebied. Dit stelt dierenartsen in staat om dieren die observatie of aanvullende tests vereisen, te verzorgen zonder de lopende operatie te verstoren. Deze regeling maakt gelijktijdige verwerking van meerdere zendingen mogelijk, terwijl strenge biosecuritymaatregelen en operationele continu\u00efteit gewaarborgd blijven.<\/p>\n<p>Het Vet Center is zo ontworpen dat het een verscheidenheid aan soorten en scenario&#8217;s ondersteunt en de veterinaire diensten van de Belgische Federale Agentschap voor de Veiligheid van de Voedselketen (AFSCA) helpt bij het uitvoeren van gedetailleerde sanitaire inspecties. Dit omvat gezondheidsstatuscontroles, documentcontroles en beoordelingen van de transportomstandigheden. In 2025 werden in de faciliteit 3.766 equiden en verschillende levende zendingen zoals siervissen, insecten en kleine zoogdieren verwerkt, wat de groeiende complexiteit van de sanitaire controleactiviteiten die door CargoLand by LGG worden beheerd, onderstreept.<\/p>\n<p>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Brun, hoofd van de afdeling Commercial Cargo &amp; Logistics bij CargoLand by LGG, legt uit: \u201eDe renovatie van het Vet Center werd gedreven door zeer concrete sanitaire en operationele omstandigheden. We verwerken steeds hogere volumes en complexere bewegingen van levende dieren. Deze verbeterde infrastructuur stelt ons in staat om de veterinaire controlecapaciteit te versterken en de hoogste normen voor dierengezondheid en -welzijn te handhaven.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Het Vet Center is een integraal onderdeel van het uitgebreide ecosysteem voor levende dieren van CargoLand by LGG, dat ook de Horse Inn omvat, die in veilige en gecontroleerde omstandigheden tot 12.000 paarden per jaar kan huisvesten. Samen versterken deze faciliteiten de positie van CargoLand by LGG als een van de toonaangevende Europese platforms voor het veilige, gereguleerde en welzijnsgerichte transport van levende
