De Georgia Ports Authority heeft Kevin Price benoemd tot president, die vanaf 1 juli 2026 onder CEO Griff Lynch zal functioneren. Price zal bovendien in het kader van een langetermijnovergangsplan medio 2027 de rol van president en CEO overnemen.<\/p>\n

Price brengt meer dan 30 jaar ervaring mee in verschillende leidinggevende functies, waaronder recentelijk als Chief Operating Officer van de Virginia International Terminals. Momenteel is hij president van de Gateway Terminals in Savannah.<\/p>\n

Groei en economische betekenis van de Georgia Ports<\/h3>\n

De gouverneur van Georgia, Brian Kemp, benadrukte de rol van de havens van de staat als essenti\u00eble motor voor economische groei. „De havens van Georgia hebben de afgelopen jaren onder leiding van Griff Lynch een cruciale rol gespeeld in het bereiken van nieuwe hoogten,“ zei Kemp. Hij sprak zijn vertrouwen uit dat Price deze aanpak zal voortzetten om te voldoen aan de behoeften van de inwoners van Georgia.<\/p>\n

Kevin Price zelf verklaarde dat de langetermijnstrategie van de Georgia Ports met betrekking tot medewerkers, klanten en infrastructuurinvesteringen cruciale concurrentievoordelen biedt. „Ik kijk ernaar uit om nauw samen te werken met Griff, de raad van bestuur en de medewerkers van de Georgia Ports om de toekomstige dynamiek en het succes verder uit te breiden,“ aldus Price.<\/p>\n

Griff Lynch, president en CEO van de Georgia Ports Authority, sprak ook positief over de benoeming van Price. „Ik ben zeer verheugd om Kevin in ons team te verwelkomen. Dit is een grote aanwinst voor de Georgia Ports en versterkt ons alleen maar verder. Hij is een ervaren branche-expert met uitgebreide kennis van terminaloperaties en sterke relaties in Savannah en daarbuiten,“ zei Lynch.<\/p>\n

De Georgia Ports in Savannah en Brunswick worden beschouwd als strategische knooppunten die door hun bedrijfsvoering en aansluiting op de toeleveringsketen een van de meest competitieve toeleveringsketens van het land cre\u00ebren. De haven van Savannah is een van de best verbonden havens in de VS met 39 scheepsaanlopen per week en 14.000 vrachtwagenbewegingen per dag. De haven van Brunswick is de toonaangevende RoRo-haven in de VS voor de logistiek van auto’s en machines.<\/p>\n

In de komende tien jaar plant de Georgia Ports Authority een investering van 4,5 miljard USD om vijf nieuwe grote scheepsaanlegplaatsen in Savannah en een vierde aanlegplaats in Brunswick te bouwen. In de afgelopen tien jaar is al 3,2 miljard USD ge\u00efnvesteerd in infrastructuurverbeteringen.<\/p>\n
