Deze middelen zijn bedoeld om de certificering en commercialisering van het vliegtuig te versnellen. De bijgewerkte versie van de HORIZON EVO, die is gebaseerd op feedback van de FAA en luchtvaartmaatschappijen, schakelt van een enkelverdieping naar een tweeverdieping lay-out. Dit verbetert de nooduitgangen, de omlooptijden en de operationele haalbaarheid, terwijl de compatibiliteit met bestaande luchthaveninfrastructuur behouden blijft.<\/p>\n<p>Het vliegtuig is ontworpen om tot 250 passagiers en standaard vrachtcontainers te vervoeren. Het combineert de mogelijkheid om zowel passagiers als vracht te vervoeren met een lager brandstofverbruik. Natilus streeft ernaar de FAA-certificering te verkrijgen en in de vroege jaren 2030 commercieel operationeel te zijn.<\/p>\n<p>De nieuwe financieringsronde werd geleid door Draper Associates, waarbij ook investeerders uit de logistiek- en luchtvaartsector zoals Flexport en New Vista Capital betrokken zijn. Deze middelen zullen de eerste volledige schaalvliegtest van het regionale vrachtvliegtuig KONA ondersteunen, evenals de verdere ontwikkeling van de HORIZON EVO.
