In deze rol zal hij de uitbreiding van de Frankfurter locatie van het bedrijf ondersteunen, dat een leidende rol speelt op het gebied van luchtvrachtafhandeling. Voorheen was Weil werkzaam als Vice President Sales Cargo op de luchthaven Frankfurt en was hij een van de oprichters en de eerste directeur van de Air Cargo Community Frankfurt. Zijn uitgebreide ervaring zal hij nu inzetten voor de ontwikkeling van het bedrijf.<\/p>\n<h3>Uitbreiding op de Frankfurter locatie<\/h3>\n<p>WFS is van plan zijn activiteiten op de belangrijkste Duitse luchtvracht-hub aanzienlijk uit te breiden, met name op het gebied van expedities en e-commerce. Om deze doelen te bereiken, zal het bedrijf een groot logistiek centrum betrekken in de Cargo City S\u00fcd, dat eerder door DHL werd gebruikt. Deze maatregel moet de concurrentiekracht van WFS in de luchtvrachtsector versterken.<\/p>\n<p>Roland Weil brengt 40 jaar ervaring in de luchtvaartsector mee. Zijn carri\u00e8re begon hij in de verkoopafdeling van Air Canada in Frankfurt am Main. Vervolgens was hij vele jaren werkzaam bij Delta Air Lines, waar hij verschillende verkoopfuncties bekleedde, laatstelijk als Regional Director Sales Southern Europe and Southeast Asia. In maart 2005 stapte hij over als Vice President Sales naar Fraport, waar hij als centraal aanspreekpunt voor de route- en netwerkplanners van de luchtvaartmaatschappijen fungeerde en de ontwikkeling van de lijnvluchten naar en via Frankfurt waarborgde. In februari 2013 nam hij de nieuw gecre\u00eberde functie van Vice President Sales Cargo bij Fraport op zich en was hij aanzienlijk betrokken bij de uitbreiding van de luchtvrachtactiviteiten op de luchthaven Frankfurt.<\/p>\n<p>Claus Wagner, directeur van FCS, de Frankfurter dochteronderneming van WFS, sprak positief over de nieuwkomer: \u201eWe zijn blij Roland Weil te verwelkomen in de WFS-familie. Het bedrijf is ook een van de toonaangevende aanbieders van grondafhandelingsdiensten en behaalde een jaarlijkse omzet van 2 miljard EUR.
