Dit is een verdere stap richting automatisering op de luchthaven en een effici\u00ebntere afhandeling. Na bijna een jaar met meer dan 5.000 testritten zijn nu twee autonome tractoren in gebruik die bagage tussen Terminal 1 en Terminal 4 onder afstandsmonitoring vervoeren.<\/p>\n<p>De voertuigen zijn uitgerust met meer dan tien sensoren en camera&#8217;s die een veilige werking zowel overdag als &#8217;s nachts en bij slechte weersomstandigheden waarborgen. Menselijke operators kunnen te allen tijde vanuit een controlecentrum ingrijpen. Dit jaar zullen nog eens zes tractoren worden ingezet op routes tussen Terminal 2 en de vliegtuigstandplaatsen. Dit initiatief is onderdeel van een samenwerking tussen de Changi Airport Group (CAG) en SATS. Tot 2027 is het plan om de vloot uit te breiden naar in totaal 24 voertuigen.<\/p>\n<h3>Uitbreiding van de toepassingsmogelijkheden<\/h3>\n<p>Naast het bagagevervoer is Changi van plan om het gebruik van autonome tractoren ook uit te breiden naar het vervoer van vracht en de transport van uitrusting. Dit moet de productiviteit verhogen en de logistiek op de luchthaven veerkrachtiger maken.
