Deze eis volgt op de recente beslissing om het wegverkeer uit een parallelle ETS-mechanisme te halen, evenals op het ontbreken van duidelijke regels voor het gebruik van de verzamelde middelen, aldus de vereniging.<\/p>\n<h3>Eis voor gelijke behandeling in de emissiehandel<\/h3>\n<p>Interferry eist dat de verplichting om emissies in de maritieme sector voorlopig wordt bevroren op het voor 2025 voorziene niveau van 70%. De geplande verhoging naar 100% in 2026 moet worden uitgesteld. Mike Corrigan (afgebeeld), CEO van Interferry, benadrukt: \u201eDeze maatregel moet blijven bestaan totdat ook het wegverkeer in een ETS is ge\u00efntegreerd en de verzamelde middelen daadwerkelijk worden gebruikt voor de decarbonisatie van de maritieme sector.\u201c Hij roept de EU op om haar belofte van eerlijke concurrentie na te komen en ervoor te zorgen dat het klimaatbeleid de transportsector niet financieel belast.<\/p>\n<p>Meer dan de helft van de wereldwijde bruto tonnage van RoRo- en passagiersschepen is volgens de vereniging actief in Europese wateren en vervoert jaarlijks 400 miljoen passagiers en 200 miljoen voertuigen en vracht.
