De haven overschreed de grens van drie miljoen TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) en noteerde daarmee een groei van meer dan 52% in vergelijking met 2024, toen er 1,9 miljoen TEU werden omgeslagen. Deze ontwikkeling wijt DP World onder andere aan de ingebruikname van de vierde ligplaats en de extra aanloophavens van de Gemini Cooperation op de Azi\u00eb-Europa-routes.<\/p>\n<h3>Groei bij Southampton Terminal<\/h3>\n<p>Ook bij de terminal in Southampton kon DP World een significante groei registreren. Daar werden meer dan twee miljoen TEU omgeslagen, wat de totale containeroverslag van het bedrijf in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op meer dan vijf miljoen TEU brengt.<\/p>\n<p>De uitbreiding bij London Gateway gaat volgens DP World verder. Momenteel wordt er gewerkt aan twee extra elektrische ligplaatsen, die deel uitmaken van een investering van 1 miljard GBP. Deze uitbreiding zal het totale aantal ligplaatsen verhogen naar zes, die in staat zijn de grootste containerschepen ter wereld te bedienen. Bovendien is er in 2025 een nieuw gebouwd spoorterminal op de locatie in gebruik genomen.
