Deze functie gaat hij in januari 2026 vervullen. Owen brengt 30 jaar ervaring in de luchtvaartsector mee, waaronder uitgebreide kennis op het gebied van verkoop, omzetbeheer, logistiek en regionale leiding, zowel in Hongkong als internationaal, met name bij Cathay Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>In zijn nieuwe rol zal Owen verantwoordelijk zijn voor de strategische richting van HAECO. Dit omvat het leiden van de informatietechnologie en de digitale transformatie, evenals de verdere ontwikkeling van de duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen van het bedrijf. Daarnaast zal hij nauwe relaties onderhouden met belangrijke belanghebbenden, waaronder joint-venturepartners en overheidsinstanties, om de positie van HAECO als wereldwijde aanbieder van MRO-diensten (onderhoud, reparatie en revisie) te versterken.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Sell, CEO van de HAECO Group, sprak zich uit over de benoeming van Owen: \u201cWe zijn verheugd om Tom als een cruciaal lid van ons leiderschapsteam bij HAECO te verwelkomen. Met zijn bewezen leiderschapservaring is Tom goed uitgerust om de duurzame groei van de HAECO Group te bevorderen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Owen begon zijn carri\u00e8re in 1995 bij de Swire Group en heeft zich voornamelijk bij Cathay Pacific onderscheiden in verschillende gebieden zoals marketing, verkoop en netwerkbeheer, evenals in regionale leiding in markten zoals Korea, Canada, de VS en Zuid-Azi\u00eb. In 2015 werd hij benoemd tot Director People, waar hij de uitgebreide modernisering van de HR-functies van de Cathay Group leidde. In 2020 nam hij de rol van Director Cargo op zich, waarin hij de vrachtactiviteiten van Cathay naar recordbrekende financi\u00eble en operationele resultaten leidde en aanzienlijke vooruitgang boekte op het gebied van digitale vaardigheden.<\/p>\n<p>De HAECO Group bedankt Summit Chan, die in december 2025 uit de functie van Group Director Corporate Development is gestapt. Chan speelde een cruciale rol bij het verbeteren van de technologische en duurzame capaciteiten van HAECO. Onder zijn leiding werden initiatieven zoals drone-ondersteunde inspecties en het gebruik van autonome robots ge\u00efmplementeerd. Daarnaast leidde hij het grootste zonne-energieproject op \u00e9\u00e9n locatie in Hongkong. Chan zorgde er ook voor dat HAECO Xiamen de eerste civiele onderhoudsplaats ter wereld werd die de LEED-platinumcertificering ontving.
