Het bedrijf streeft ernaar om tegen 2050 netto-nul-emissies te bereiken en heeft daarvoor verschillende maatregelen in zijn duurzaamheidsstrategie ge\u00efmplementeerd. Deze omvatten onder andere het gebruik van duurzame vliegtuigbrandstoffen, de elektrificatie van de laatste mijl en de uitbreiding van zonne-infrastructuur.<\/p>\n<h3>Luchtvracht en waterstoftechnologie<\/h3>\n<p>Een belangrijke stap in de luchtvracht is de overeenkomst met Phillips 66, die DHL in 2025 heeft afgesloten. Deze overeenkomst omvat de levering van meer dan 240.000 ton duurzame vliegtuigbrandstof (SAF) over een periode van drie jaar. Met deze maatregel moeten de emissies over de levenscyclus met ongeveer 737.000 ton CO\u2082e worden verlaagd, wat overeenkomt met de emissie van ongeveer 2.400 enkele vluchten van Los Angeles naar Frankfurt, aldus DHL. De in Californi\u00eb geproduceerde brandstof zal voornamelijk worden gebruikt voor de DHL-operaties aan de Amerikaanse westkust.<\/p>\n<p>Daarnaast heeft DHL ook waterstoftechnologie op de agenda gezet. In het kader van een pilotproject in het Midden-Oosten zal het bedrijf waterstof aangedreven vrachtwagens testen.
