Voor de eerste helft van 2024 is er bij Scandlines gemiddeld een groei van 5 procent in het vrachtverkeer in vergelijking met het voorgaande jaar op de route Rostock-Gedser waarneembaar. De gevolgen van de zwakke economie, vooral in Duitsland en Zweden, zijn nog steeds voelbaar.<\/h5>\n<p>In Denemarken, Zweden en de Benelux-landen zijn er echter aarzelende tekenen van een economische verbetering. Dit komt overeen met de verwachtingen van Scandlines voor een langzame herstel in de tweede helft van 2024. Evenzo positief is de situatie in de busvervoersector op Rostock-Gedser, aangezien het volume in de eerste zes maanden van 2024 in vergelijking met 2023 ook met 5 procent is toegenomen. De zin om weer groepsreizen naar het buitenland te maken, is geleidelijk aan teruggekeerd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eMet deze verheugende ontwikkelingen kijken we vol vertrouwen naar het hoogseizoen waarin we ons nu bevinden. Met de start van de zomervakantie in Denemarken neemt het autoverkeer deze week sterk toe. Tijdens de eerste zes maanden van dit jaar maakten iets minder auto\u2019s gebruik van de veerdiensten van Scandlines dan vorig jaar, maar de voorboekingscijfers voor het zomerseizoen op beide routes van de rederij zijn veelbelovend\u201c, aldus Heiko K\u00e4hler, directeur van Scandlines Deutschland GmbH.<\/p>\n<p>Bij Scandlines is het verkeersvolume echter niet de enige doorslaggevende maatstaf. De focus ligt nog steeds op de inspanningen om de visie van een veerdienst zonder directe emissies te verwezenlijken. Op de Vogelfluglinie tussen Puttgarden en R\u00f8dby moet de nul-emissie operatie tegen 2030 werkelijkheid worden. In het kader van het duurzaamheidsrapport heeft Scandlines zich verplicht om tegen 2040 zonder directe emissies te opereren. De verwezenlijking van deze ambitieuze doelen vereist hoge investeringen, die vari\u00ebren van rotorzeilen en propelleroptimalisaties op de route Rostock-Gedser tot de ingebruikname van de eerste volledig elektrisch aangedreven vrachtveerboot van Scandlines, de \u201eFutura\u201c, in 2024. Sinds 2013 heeft Scandlines in totaal 400 miljoen euro ge\u00efnvesteerd in maatregelen die deze doelen stap voor stap dichterbij brengen. In 2030 verwacht Scandlines al een vermindering van de CO<sub>2<\/sub>-uitstoot met 60 procent in vergelijking met 2008.<\/p>\n<h5>Economische belangen en duurzaamheid hand in hand<\/h5>\n<p>\u201eBij ons gaan de economische belangen en de uitvoering van onze duurzaamheidsdoelen hand in hand.
