Samen met de Franse rederij CMA CGM heeft het bedrijf een koopovereenkomst gesloten voor 2.500 ton biobrandstof voor alle LCL-transporten (Less-than Container Load) en extra FCL-containers (Full Container Load).<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>(Essen\/Marseille) De brandstofbehoefte voor het transport van de LCL-containers van DB Schenker wordt gedekt met zogenaamde geavanceerde biobrandstoffen, waarbij nieuwe emissies van broeikasgassen voor 100 procent worden vermeden. Door de overallocatie van biobrandstof wordt een netto-emissie van CO2-equivalenten van nul bereikt. De samenwerking maakt de besparing van meer dan 7.000 ton CO2-equivalenten mogelijk en behoort daarmee tot de belangrijkste aankopen van biobrandstoffen in de zeevracht. DB Schenker levert meer biobrandstof dan nodig is voor het pure transport van de containers, om ook de voorafgaande emissies bij de productie van de brandstof te compenseren en alle LCL-containers daadwerkelijk broeikasgasneutraal te vervoeren.<\/p>\n<p>Met het milieuvriendelijke containertransport zetten DB Schenker en CMA CGM samen een grote stap richting de decarbonisatie van de zeevracht. Klanten van DB Schenker kunnen de carbon zero-LCL-optie vanaf nu boeken en ontvangen een certificaat over de emissiereductie voor hun klimaatbalans.<\/p>\n<p>Thorsten Meincke, bestuurslid voor lucht- en zeevracht bij DB Schenker: \u201eWe zijn zeer blij dat we deze belangrijke investering kunnen doen om de CO2-voetafdruk in de containerzeevracht te verminderen. Het gebruik van biobrandstof is een belangrijke stap op weg naar milieuvriendelijke toeleveringsketens en draagt bij aan onze duurzaamheidsagenda in de zeevracht. Ons doel bij DB Schenker is om tegen 2040 klimaatneutraal te zijn. Samen met CMA CGM gaan we hier ambitieus mee aan de slag.\u201d<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Turnkey-oplossingen voor CO2-reductie<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Olivier Nivoix, Executive Vice President, Lines, CMA CGM: \u201eAls pionier en toonaangevend bedrijf in duurzame scheepvaart en logistiek heeft de CMA CGM-groep zich verplicht om tegen 2023 ten minste 10 procent van haar verbruik door alternatieve brandstoffen te dekken. We bieden onze klanten nu al een reeks turnkey-oplossingen aan waarmee ze hun CO2-voetafdruk kunnen verkleinen. Biobrandstof is een van de oplossingen voor de decarbonisatie van de scheepvaart, en we zijn blij met het moedige partnerschap dat we vandaag met DB Schenker aangaan. We blijven sterk investeren in onderzoek en ontwikkeling om samen met industri\u00eble partners de energiebronnen van de toekomst te vinden.\u201d<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Biobrandstof kan zonder aanpassingen worden toegepast<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Biobrandstof kan zonder aanpassingen van de infrastructuur of de toeleveringsketen in de reguliere zeevrachtoperatie worden ingevoerd en wordt daarom als bijzonder eenvoudig toepasbaar beschouwd. Het wordt gewonnen uit afvalstoffen, bijvoorbeeld uit gebruikte voedingsoli\u00ebn.<\/p>\n<p>Met deze samenwerking wordt opnieuw het engagement van DB Schenker voor schone logistiek duidelijk.
