Bij de intermodale terminal, die direct aan de Scandinavienkai is gevestigd, heeft de LHG-dochter Baltic Rail Gate (BRG) al medio oktober de honderdduizendste container gelost. Zo vroeg als nooit tevoren! In de afgelopen twee jaar was het in november zover.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>(L\u00fcbeck) In 2019 bereikte het bedrijf de mijlpaal voor het eerst; in 2020 lukte het opnieuw, ondanks tussentijdse coronastoringen. Sinds de opening van de terminal in 2003 heeft BRG in totaal ongeveer 1,5 miljoen eenheden verwerkt. Voor 2021 wordt een nieuwe jaarrecord verwacht.<\/p>\n<p>Om de stijgende volumes aan te kunnen, richt BRG zich in eerste instantie op de uitbreiding van de ploegendienst. Al in het voorjaar heeft directeur Antje Falk proefgewijs een nachtdienst ingesteld. &#8220;Hierdoor verhogen we niet alleen de capaciteit van de installatie, maar ook de kwaliteit. We kunnen dienstregelingen spreiden en extra veerverbindingen bedienen. Verladers krijgen zo meer ruimte bij het plannen van transporten in de Oostzee-regio,&#8221; legt Antje Falk uit.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Sporen worden in 2022 met 140 meter verlengd<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Op langere termijn is dat echter niet voldoende. &#8220;De plannen bestaan al langer; volgend jaar zullen we onze zes sporen met 140 meter verlengen. De werkzaamheden zullen in 2023 zijn afgerond.&#8221; De rekensom is als volgt: langere sporen, langere treinen, hogere prestaties.<\/p>\n<p>Via Baltic Rail Gate zijn momenteel de Duitse bestemmingen Ludwigshafen, Duisburg, Herne, Hamburg en Verona en Novara in Noord-Itali\u00eb bereikbaar.
